So yesterday I woke up with double vision. I thought it was just a syptom of the flu stuff I’ve had for the past two weeks. I still struggled through the day with one eye closed. I gave my talk to the LSS and ended up running around with Mr M, Beeballer, and LondonPlayboy throughout the day. I finally ran out of energy and came home. I thought I could sleep off whatever was happening. So this morning I woke up and it was worse than ever. I am so dizzy and the back of my head hurts. I feel like my brain is too big for my head. I called the NHS nurse line through my uni and started investigating online. After answering questions to this rude dude for ages, with an accent I couldn’t understand and the gall to ask me if my first language was English, a doctor finally called me. She talked me through my symptoms and told me to go to the eye specialty A&E near me.
So I waited for the bus for ages in the rain and finally got to the hospital. It was one hell of a trip as I was so dizzy and exhausted. All I want to do is hold onto the ground rally tightly to keep from falling off the earth. I work my way through the whole process. It takes about two hours. Lots of questions and tests. There was even a blood test. For a second I had a diabetes scare. But I don’t have that. I have a problem with a nerve in my right eye. It isn’t sending the right signals to the muscle in my eye. So it’s not positioning correctly. I have to go back tomorrow for 2 hours of tests to determine if it’s a lifelong problem or a new problem. Worst case scenario I have to have surgery somewhere between my eye and my brain. I dunno if it’s eye surgery or brain surgery, but I’m not exactly excited. Tomorrow they might give me special glasses as a short term fix. Yay.
