I’m a Survivor

Written by Paladin on November 1, 2008 Categories: health

I almost forgot to write this post.  I went to the hospital today and it was wicked scary.  I saw a new doctor.  Then a neurologist.  Then the Dr. House of England.  Then I got a CT scan of my brain and I gave 7 vials of blood for extensive tests.  It was intense.

The neurology test took an hour.  I failed some parts and I got scared that my brain might have real damage.  But I found out today that I’m ok.  I don’t wanna dance around it.  I don’t have a tumor.  That was huge good news.  I have some kind of inflamation of my eyes and it seems that my nerve is healing.  Slowly.  But it’s still great news.  I gotta wear my glasses and eyepatch sometimes.  That is a great victory.

There’s something beautiful about the words “you’re not dying” and “you don’t have a tumor.”  It didn’t quite hit me like “you dont have aids” did a few years ago.  But I am pretty happy.  I am waiting on these blood tests for three weeks now.  So I might have a problem still, but it seems that my body is somehow healing itself.  So for all my fans and friends and even for my readers who hate me, thanks for being with me on this journey.  And this halloween celebrate with me.  I’m alive!
